Nathan McLaughlin (a lovely special effects make-up guy working on our little movie this weekend) sent us these images of the finished clay sculpt of an 80 year old Neil Edmond (our lead actor). The boy done good me thinks. Very good maybe? He’s right now making a silicon do-hickey thing from this mold that he then has to punch a gazilion holes in it to hand place each and every hair, which an 80 year old’s face is not too short of.
Was asked to create a 20 second slide as part of a Peka Kucha presentation on the theme of inspiration. Our Dad has the most crazy dreams. They normal continue each night and often feature the same characters. The most infamous of these is Big Mouse. Lately, they’re become friends and team up against Big Chicken who is painting everything he sees. Wish my dreams were half are good as his.

Our touch screen guide to the inner working of The Great Clock (that’s Big Ben kids) has been installed into it’s custom built wooden paneled unit half-way up The Clock Tower. Wonderfully styled to fit in with all the pomp and tradition of parliament. Try out the animation below, or ask your MP for a tour. WARNING, it’s 394 steps to the top.

We’re directing a short film written by Richard Johnson called ‘All the Time in the World’. We shoot it in a few weeks and today we sent our star (Neil Edmond) off to Brighton to have our make-up special effects guy (Nathan) pour goo all over his pretty head to make a full head cast. How cool is that? Proper ‘Makings of Thriller‘ stuff.
Meanwhile you can see Neil in Contains Violence (until 10th May) which we’ll be checking out next tuesday, see you there.
We had a bit of an issue the other day with a horde of angry Zombies in the city, we had to fight our way through the brain thirsty losers and find our way to the helipad. Which was fun. We did all this with the aid of the board game cryptically named ‘ZOMBIES!!!‘ in our garage which we themed as a zombie strong hold for the night. This is the kind of thing everyone does on a Saturday night yeah? ok, we’re cool then.
Found this old bit of footage from a holiday video we shot in Cabazon, California back in 2002. Must go back soon – even the name ‘Cabazon’ sounds cool. mmmm Cabazon…
For anybody that cares: They used this place for that scene in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure when he watches the sun set from the T-Rex’s mouth. If any of you have not seen the movie then get the hell out of our damn blog and don’t come back until you can do the tequila dance in its entirety.
