flipper gaffer tape wallet guide
Congratulations on choosing the Flipper Gaffer Tape Wallet as your cash holding thing.

Before you start the construction of your own glorious wallet, you will need to get hold of some gaffer tape. I would suggest you drop a few extra quid on some high quality professional gaffer tape. I got mine here. I use the extra strong stuff, but you use whatever your heart desires. It’s not cheap, so if you know a photographer or happen to be on a photographic shoot; steal some. Photographers always use the good stuff, perfect for the creation of your bad (as in good) ass (as in bottom) wallet.

Another substance I’ve taken to including, is a couple of credit card sized rectangles of very thin plastic. I cut up cheap plastic folders. It’s normally nice and flexible and really thin. You'll also need a craft knife and cutting mat.

step one

First off, cut up that nice new thin plastic folder into 2 rectangles. You could use thin card if you haven't got anything made of thin plastic.

step two

Stick down strips of gaffer tape on a cutting mat. Overlap them slightly to make a sheet. Lay down enough to be able to cut out a piece to the sizes shown below.

step three

Position one of your plastic cards in the middle of the sheet, and lop off the corners at 45 degree angles.

step four

Carefully un-peel the sheet from the mat, flip it over, and very carefully place the plastic card in the dead center. Then fold in the tabs, pressing them down firmly. Repeat steps 2-4 with the other plastic card.

step five

Stick down another sheet of gaffer tape as in step 1, and cut out the plus shape below. Then flip it over. Cut another smaller rectangle to the sizes below, and stick it in the middle of the bigger plus shape. Then fold up the bottom tab ONLY!

step six

Lay 2 credit cards on the shape piece you've just made (add more credit cards if you want a fatter wallet), then place the plastic piece on top, lining up with the edge of the sticky tab along the top. Fold the tabs over nice and tight. Repeat this to make 2 pockets.

step seven

Make 2 more gaffer sheets. The bigger sheet will be the outside wrapper to your wallet. I've added that line of snazzy orange tape to the wrapper using a different coloured piece of tape. Style it how you like, stick feathers and crap in there, see if I care.

step eight

Flip over the big sheet and stick the smaller one slap bang in the middle. Cut out the tabs as shown below.

step nine

Fold all the tabs over, smoothing them out nice and flat.

step ten

What do you know? You got yourself a pretty little gaffer tape wallet. It's a good idea to fold the wallet in half, and leave it over night under a pile of books or something heavy. I used a big hard drive as I'm way too geeky to have books laying around.
